Upcoming Biochar Workshops

Information on the next workshop in the fall of 2025 will be posted soon.

Blue Heron Learning Society has launched a new community biochar kiln! It is available for community use. Would you like to see the community biochar kiln in action? For info or to register for courses click here.

At the workshop you’ll learn how to operate the kiln, the kinds of materials that are needed, and about the fire regulations that govern its use. You will also learn about the citizen science project we are launching to investigate the effectiveness of biochar in local gardens. After taking a workshop, you are eligible to borrow the kiln to do your own burn.
